Road Safety
Speeding
Arrive safely. Speed can cost a life.
The faster you go, the less time you have to react and the longer it takes to stop. Driving at a speed that suits the road, the conditions and the people around you gives everyone more room to get home.
What you can do
- Stick to the speed limit. It is a maximum, not a target.
- Slow down near schools, taxi ranks, busy towns and places where people walk.
- Leave a bigger following gap when you are behind trucks, buses or in poor visibility.
- Plan your trip so that you are not rushing to make up time.
Quick tips

Leave a little earlier so you never need to rush.
